Bear with Beer
Who would have thought that beer could come in handy while things like stains are concerned? The answer to this question might be close to a big ‘o’. Anyway, if you didn’t have any idea about the efficacy of beer in removing tea or coffee stains, it’s time you tried some beer on the tea or coffee stains on your carpet. All you have to do is just to pour a little amount of beer on the stain and rub it gently for a while to see the stains off. You might need to repeat the process once if the stains are adamant ones.
Add a Bit of Ammonia
It is true that ammonia is not very popular due to its foul odour, but when it comes to stain cleaning, it’s absolutely fabulous. Just mix a cup full of clear ammonia with a couple of litres of warm water and sponge the stains with this solution. Keep repeating if necessary, but don’t forget to dry up the carpet thoroughly.
Vinegar the Ultimate Victorious
Vinegar indeed is the Superman of removing stains. There are several vinegar based formulas for several types of stains that work magic on your carpet. Take white vinegar for example, half a cup of it along with a couple of tablespoonful salt can do wonders when rubbed lightly on stains. Let the solution stay for a while and dried up before vacuuming your carpet.
For more deeply set stains, just add two tablespoons of a new ingredient which is borax in this case to this solution and follow the same instruction. You can also mix a single spoon of vinegar with a tablespoon of cornstarch, then rub it gently on the tough dirt stains and vacuum it after two days. You can also use 11/2 portion of detergent along with similar amounts of vinegar and 2 cups of water on paint stains. Just rub the solution on the stain before setting in and wash it with cold water.
Say Hello to Shaving Cream
Just like on human skin, it works great on carpet stains as well. Especially if the stain is juice stains or oil or grease based one, shaving cream is great. Just use a wet sponge to blot the stain, then use a little shaving cream on the spot, let it dry and then use a wet cloth or damp sponge to remove the spot.
Cornstarch is a Cure
Uh oh, there is an ink stain on your lovely carpet? Don’t fret, just make a cornstarch and milk paste and apply it to the stain. Let it dry for a while, a few hours to be more precise and brush it thoroughly before vacuuming.
